NOTICE OF REGULAR TOWN BOARD MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS ON THE FIRE CONTRACTS, TAX CAP LAW AND THE PRELIMINARY BUDGET OF THE TOWN OF GREENWICH

FOR THE YEAR 2027

November Monthly Meeting Notice

The Greenwich Town Board will hold its Regular November Meeting at 6:30 PM on Thursday, November 5th^, 2026, at the Town Office Building, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, NY.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Greenwich is considering entering into contracts with the Village of Greenwich, Village of Schuylerville, Middle Falls Fire Company, and Cossayuna Fire Company for the purpose of furnishing fire protection to the residents of the Town of Greenwich.

These contracts are for the calendar year January 1, 2027, through December 31, 2027.

            Village of Greenwich                           $133,334.00

            Village of Schuylerville                        $ 21,803.00

            Middle Falls Fire Company                 $109,770.00

            Cossayuna Fire Company                    $ 87,329.00

A Public Hearing will be held at the Town Office Building, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, New York at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2026, to hear any person in favor of or against said proposed contracts.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Greenwich shall hold a Public Hearing at the Town Office Building, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, New York at 6:45 PM Thursday, November 5, 2026, on proposed Local Law to Exceed the Tax Cap. 

At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the Law to Exceed the Tax Cap as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Greenwich for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2027, including general town funds, highway funds, fire protection district funds, and lighting district funds, has been completed and filed in the Office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Greenwich, 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, NY, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during office hours.

FURTHER NOTICE IS GIVEN THAT PURSUANT TO Real Property Tax Law Section 495 the Exemption report, which shows how much of the total assessed value on the final assessment roll is exempt from taxation, is on file with the Preliminary 2027 Budget.

The Town Board of the Town of Greenwich shall hold a public hearing on said Preliminary Budget on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 7:00 PM showing such changes, alterations and revisions as shall have been made therein by the Town Board of the Town of Greenwich.  At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the Preliminary Budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained.

The following are the proposed 2027 salaries of Elected Town Officers of the Town of Greenwich:

            SUPERVISOR                                        $14,100.00

            COUNCILMAN (4)                                $  4,500.00

            TOWN JUSTICE                                    $12,800.00

            TOWN CLERK/TAX COLLECTOR          $49,500.00

            SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS      $62,163.00

The Greenwich Town Board will hold its Monthly Meetings for 2026 at 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month unless otherwise noted.  Meetings are held at the Town Office located at 2 Academy Street, Greenwich, NY. Public can attend via Zoom. The meeting schedule shall be as follows:
